AD COPY that Serves Your READER Right by Rhonda Hailey Most of your Marketing Departments (if you work for a corporation); or Affilite Programs will provide you with pretty good and even PRO*VEN to work Ad Copy or Sales Letters. You can use these and anticipate a certain degree of success. But it stands to reason that if every few thousand affiliates, or sales reps are using the same ad... it will SOONER or later lose its UNIQUENESS. You can write ONE really good ad and just change the Headline, and opening statement depending on Your TARGET Prospect. But the general Make up or Outline of your ad should contain these 10 Basic Ingredients: """"""""""" 1. OPENING Statement A great opening statement - intrigues and immediately gives your reader a reason to keep reading. 2. QUICK list your BENEFITS before your reader loses interest. Be specific, brief and Clear. (remember which target you are talking to). 3. Identify the Problem - relate with your reader 4. Provide your Solution (a brief description of overview...leaving plenty of reason to click thru to your site or ask for more info.) 5. List more Benefits or repeat the same ones using different terminology or trigger words 6. Provide a Testimonial 7. State a Time Limit/Urgency = Reason to ACT NOW 8. Provide your link or mailto and TELL Your Reader WHAT TO DO with it. Do not assume that just because you put an email address or url there; that your reader will click on it. 9. Close with plenty of VALID Contact Information 10. Include a PS in your PS - add MORE Reason to ACT NOW Remind your reader of the Limit on the offer or add a BONUS and repeat your link again. It is IMPORTANT that you Provide your link more than once.... You will have readers who will want to get past the small talk and look at your site 1st... They don't want to read your ad. Have the link close to the top at the 1st logical position for these Quick Action, Decisive Prospects. For the reader, who thinks they may be "interested" as soon as they have read your list of benefits... make it available again, with instruction to Click Here Now to get the scoop or get more details.... Then of course again, for that reader who has to study your entire sales letter from top to bottom; and chew their bottom lip before they decide its safe to click your link. ;0) And then yet again, in your PS... for your reluctant reader that decides "well ok, I'll look, if there is something in it for me, or fr3e." These BASIC Ingredients in your Ad Copy or Sales Letter show consideration for your prospects TIME, needs and will help you to SERVE your Reader right. ======================================================== Rhonda Hailey is the editor of RUMBLES from the Jungle E- Zine.
