YES, Sometimes you do have to use a Cattle PROD by Rhonda Hailey Ever wonder why your fabulous ad copy complete with that KILLER Headline just doesn't seem to make the sale? Sometimes the answer is simply that you didn't ask for it. Lost in the process of reading your well written ad or sales letter - we sometimes just need a gentle nudge or definite PROD to "click the button" or "go to" the link.... Sometimes we need a good swift kick in the tail end to PROMPT ACTION. It's true... we humans tend to be creatures of habit and just because the obvious is there we like to be told exactly what to do next, especially during the buying process. SO TELL EM! As you progress thru your ad-copy or sales letter... don't just add your link. Give your reader CLEAR INSTRUCTION on what you want them to do with your link; and what they can expect when they do. Examples: "Click Here" or "GO TO" to get more information.... to receive more information by e-mail to order yours now... to SAVE $20 Bucks on your Order... to get this Incredible BONUS... for your instant Download... to PAY... Be sure your Call to Action Creates a Sense of URGENCY! Call this number "NOW" Your instructions should convey that: This incredible offer won't be available forever - get it while it is HOT. Don't call when you get around to it, CALL right NOW - Call before this offer ends... at XXOCLOCK!) One minute later will be too late... You may even want to add a special offer or alternate action for those who can't afford your product today. Such as: "If you can't take advantage today, bookmark this site. This offer will be valid until xx Date, so you don't have to miss out." or "send me your name and e-mail address with this code in your e-mail. I'll add you to my mailing list and reserve this special offer just for you until XX Date." (Not only have you not lost this sale, but you have added a HOT PROSPECT to your mailing list, with permission to send them future offers, whether they actually take you up on this offer or not.) It is especially important that you include a strong CALL TO ACTION with e-mail promotions. Once the delete key is hit - you are gone. Your ad isn't sitting around on a coffee table in a magazine or catalog for future reference. So YES, definitely put a little CATTLE PROD into your Call to Action Statements. Move em up, Giddy Yup, RAWHIDE..... (Sorry, couldn't resist... :) ======================================================== Rhonda Hailey is the editor of RUMBLES from the Jungle E- Zine.
