Build Your Own LEAD Generation Page by Rhonda Hailey LEAD GENERATION pages are not to be confused with "doorway" pages. Doorway pages are primarily created for the purpose of attracting more traffic via the Search Engines. They don't need to be pretty or even seen by the human eye. What I'm working on with you today is developing a SIMPLE page that will gather your visitors contact information for you BEFORE they go to your site. And you definitely want humans to see it. These are often referred to as "splash" pages. This article will be most useful for you if you have dabbled in html or with an html editor; or at least "want to". There are several reasons to use a "Lead Generation" page verses sending your traffic directly to your site; but I would say the top 3 are: 1. To capture contact info so you can follow up (few people buy on sight) 2. To give you a "permission based" reason for staying in contact with your lead and developing a relationship with them. (relationship marketing) 3. Create backend profits. Once you develop a RELATIONSHIP with your prospect, you can offer them other products or keep them up to date on the latest happenings from your company... Your LEAD GENERATION Page should be short and simple. Its job is not to show and tell all, but to get your visitor to subscribe for more info. LEAD Pages are perfect for start page and exit exchanges. Some sites build this feature in for you. If not, or you just don't want to look like a big "DITTO", then a LEAD GENERATION page is the ticket and pretty easy to do. See a Sample here: http://rumblesfromthejungle.com/FCC.htm (not a working site... for sample purposes only) As with all good recipes, you need a few basic ingredients. html editor - any html editor will do. But for a particularly affordable web builder with hosting and EASE of Use...go here: http://www.iprobuilder.com/10878 Headline - You should have a LIST of headlines to choose from Picture - a picture or clip art of your product or something that relates to your headline Your picture has one job and one job only. That is to appeal to the eye. It doesn't even have to relate. Use the opposites attract theory and turn your imagination loose.... Ad Copy - Just enough to get your reader to respond for more info And the Most Important Ingredient of all: Your Sub Form - From your auto-responder, create a sub-form and have the code ready on your text pad. (OOPS - you don't have an autoresponder?) Get unlimited professional quality auto-responders here along with many other web-master tools: http://www.rphinc.net/cgi-bin/atz/t.cgi?iso_article There are also plenty of fr3e responders out there, just be aware that they are fr3e because they carry paid advertising messages on every email sent out from them. Follow UP - Finally all that is left is the FOLLOW UP. Your responder should be loaded to automatically build a relationship with your lead, with up to 52 messages. Your mailings should be scheduled no more than 2 or 3 per week, MAX. You can create a simple and UNIQUE Splash Page to generate your OWN LEADS for any program.
