ever slack off for the month of December. But the good news is we are
now
on a new server... Nice! More room, more power,
better everything. :)
I hope you had a wonderful and blessed Christmas Season. We
had our first WHITE
Christmas since 1926, here in Texas. I know many
of you get pretty sick of the white
stuff; but we usually have to go to Colorado to see it. Even
the adults act like kids when
it snows in Texas. Wish I had snapped a shot of our local
firemen out throwing
snowballs and building little snowmen in front of the firehouse.
:)
Now here we are at the dawn of the NEW Year, and it's time to
get to work. My wish for
you and me; is that we set lofty and worthy goals for the new year and
that we meet our
goals before the ball drops at midnight Dec 31st, 2010. Let's
get started.

below, you will find a couple of great videos to help you;
in case you are stuck configuring your wordpress blog.
Assuming you have done your keyword reserach.. this article moves on
with the
topic of traffic generation. If you need to refresh your
memory.. see where we
left off in Part 1 here.
Create
content
You should now take a list of your keywords and create 300-500 word
articles
based around them. Your article should contain (at least) one keyword
in the
title, the keyword in the first and last paragraphs, as well as an
overall
keyword density of ~2-3%.
You don’t need to get too hung up on this, just ensure that you are
writing
for people, rather than just trying to stuff it with too many keywords.
Hopefully you have your wordpress blog installed and are ready to start
to
posting.. This is the easiest way to manage content and update it.
For each article, post it to a separate post on your blog. Then create
a
quick rewrite and submit that to several article directories. Article
submission tools are not as proficient as the human eye..
Every article
directory site has it's own format and criteria.. You'll need to read
and adhere to their rules and guidelines to have your articles submitted
properly.
Here
is a list of the top 25 directories based on Alexa rank:
When submitting to article directories, you get to include a signature
link
also with (typically) up to two links back to your site(s).
1) Create one anchor text link that links to your blog post/ Original
Article.
2) Create a second link that goes back to your homepage/ landing page.
(If you don’t know how to create an anchor text link, here is the code
you
need to use: <a href="http://www.yoursite.com">Anchor
Text</a>)
Your ANCHOR TEXT = the KEYWORD Phrase that you are targeting.
This helps “strengthen” all the individual pages on your site, as well
as
your homepage. Here is an example signature box:
“For a free Golf Swing Teaching Aids report visit our site at:
www.GolfSwingTeachingAids.com ”
Note the anchor text link to the blog post, as well as the homepage
link.
The benefit of these article submissions is three fold.
1) You can get direct traffic from the articles in the directories.
2) You get backlinks from the article directories.
3) When someone republishes your article, you get more traffic and
backlinks
The more backlinks you have, the better you will rank in the search
engines,
and the more traffic you will get.
Generate
Traffic from AUTHORITY Sites
You can submit your (same) content to various web 2.0 authority sites.
Having links
to your site from these authority sites is important.. Many of these
will naturally
rank your content high.
Sites like Squidoo and Hubpages also allow you to add your YouTube
videos
and blog RSS feed. Nice...
Create short 30 second - 1minute videos and submit them on YouTube, to
promote
your original article...
Use social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook to drive even more
traffic, all
directed to your original article, which directs the traffic to your
landing page.
Consistency
is key. So don't just do a couple,
then quit and wait.. This should
become an action plan for every week and every day of it if possible.
Develop a
system that works for you. The hardest part will be getting
the initial set up done..
Once, you've done a couple, you will get faster and better with each
article and
promotion of it.
If you don't have hours at a time to work.. eat your elephant one bite
at a time.
1-2 articles a week, is better than 1-2 a month. 1-2 a month,
is better than none.
20-30 a month... will
rock your world.
