Branding should never be optional..

Times may be tough; but this is certainly no time to cut back on your
marketing efforts.

A downturn in any industry can make a shambles of your marketing
and branding efforts. Too many firms abandon their marketing plans to
use the cash on what they believe to be more important.

Yet there still is a need for getting your name out in front of a desired
audience, whether it is a business-to-business relationship or a
business-to-consumer relationship.

In tough times, more original means may be needed in order to insure
your message gets out to your referral partners, customers (current,
past and future) and any one else you want to reach.

Examples might be holiday themed bottles of bubble soap or gourmet
cookies / baked goods. All natural, gourmet cookies and other baked
goods that are not available in stores or other retail outlets, make them
a HIGH IMPACT choice for give aways or appreciation gifts.

Everything is cyclical and now is the time for a company to say its here,
healthy and eager to provide more service and more appreciation,
instead of sacrificing customer services in order to cut costs.

The client/consumer is very savvy these days and WILL make a
judgment call based on a gift. You have to think through how your client
may receive it. Are they going to perceive that you went out of your
way to send them something special? Any incentive should be
something that can be branded with your logo or tagline and is high
end.

Uniqueness is one of the things to look for when creating something to
give that gets the notice of potential business sources/ clients.

The goal of any incentive is to get your recipient to pick up and use the
product. "People appreciate useful/ tasteful items. One really nice
example consisted of a plant, whose seed had an imprint of the
company's logo. When the plant sprouted and grew, the logo came out
on a bean. It, too, was tied into a theme, which was "We continue to
grow." Talk about branding with a time release plan. :)

Other clever ideas include engraved martini shakers, cookies with your
company's logo embossed on top in icing, as well as other forms of
food, engraved containers for commonly used items/ food.

Something high impact and something the recipient will open, keep on
their desks and even watch it grow takes advertising specialties to a
new level. Sure it requires thought and creativity; but it doesn't have to
cost a fortune.

The important thing is that you never neglect Branding... an important
element in any marketing plan under any economic conditions.

Do you know where your prospects are?

 

The more you know about the best prospects for your product or service,

the easier it is to pinpoint your advertising message.

 

If your business serves folks from all over the state,  country or multiple countries.. then the internet is definitely your friend.

 

But what if your business serves a 20 mile radius or less?  What if you can

narrow that target market down even further... by gender, age, income and

interests?

 

Seek out the medias and resources that your prime prospect reads/ uses on

a regular basis and purchase "space" to get the best bang from your advertising buck.

 

For instance, if your prime prospect is a parent in a certain school district/ town,

with children who attend K-5; a perfect media for you would be book covers,

directories, folders/ materials that the school uses to keep in touch with parents. 

 

One offline service that we provide are SCHOOL FOLDERS.  These are often referred to as the "Take Home Folder" and is what the teachers/ schools use to send important papers to / from parents.  IE: PTA letters, school newsletter... graded papers, etc.  It's an open line of communication between the school and parents.

 

 

 

 

There are several nice things about this sort of media:

 

1.  It Targets a specific part of your market

2.  Your message UP CLOSE, in the face of your target every single week

3.  You get Brand Recognition

4.  You Establish TRUST/ bond with the community

5.  You get EXCLUSIVITY, so only one Chiro or Ins Agent, etc.

6.  It doesn't get thrown in the trash....  so you get LONGEVITY

7.  and the cpm is extremely Cost Effective.
