Does your Affiliate Page have evil PopUps?


You can deliver tons of free traffic to your website with the use of click
exchanges and auto-surf programs. BUT most of these fr3e (member
driven) services do not allow pop-ups or pop-unders and especially
frame breakers.

Corey Rudyl and Joe Vitale and the like are notorious for creating
affiliate pages with not only one but two, even three pop-ups or pop-
unders. Some even hijack your browser; keeping you from surfing
while you try to close them all.

That doesn't make them bad guys... they have just had really good
conversion rates using these tactics. BUT for the low budget, no budget
affiliate... it creates an obstacle.

If you want to FIX your affiliate page so you can send guaranteed or
surf exchange traffic to it... you can. It really isn't that hard.

You do need your own domain. If you haven't and aren't ready to
purchase your own domain yet, you can use a free hosting service.
BUT... fr3e services cost money to run; so understand that your
webpages hosted on a free domain will most likely have other
advertising on them. Sometimes it is banners... and sometimes it is
popunders. So you need to be careful of which ones you choose.
(Remember our goal is no popups or popunders.) You can search "free
hosting", "free web hosting", etc. to find one.

Pull your evil affiliate page up in your browser, and click on VIEW
source. A notepad window will open exposing the source code for your
page.

RIGHT CLICK in this window and SELECT ALL, and COPY the code.

Then open your html editor, (I usually use Front Page), and PASTE your
code into the html section.

You can click on PREVIEW and the page should look just like your
Affiliate Page.

Go back to your html editing area, and scan the code for <script>
When you find this tag examine it to see if it is the code that is
generating the popup or popunder. It is usually located between the
<Head> and </Head> tags or near the bottom of the page between the
<Body> and </Body> tag; and looks something like this:

Highlight and DELETE this script.

Now to check to see if this has eliminated all of your popups/popunders
without skewing your page... Click on PREVIEW. If the page looks
good and you get no popups or popunders... you are ready to upload
to your domain.

If you still get a popup/popunder... you will need to find another
<script> and delete it. SAVE your page, and give it a short name
without spaces. (mypg2).

Once ready, upload to your domain. Your Fr3e hosting service will
have instructions for uploading your pages. Once uploaded, view your
New page and check all the links. Make sure your signup forms or
paylinks all work.

If everything works and you get no popups or popunders, then you can
now use this page in your free surf exchanges and rotators and for
guaranteed traffic purchases.
